Shelley Olds grew up in Massachusetts and received her undergraduate degree from Roanoke College in Virginia where she served as the Captain of the Women's Soccer Team for 2 consecutive years. She was named All-State, All-Region, "Player of the Year", and was nominated as an All-American. Shelley was introduced to cycling by riding on the back of a mountain bike tandem in 2005. Since then she has become a Category 1 cyclist in three different disciplines; track, road, and cyclocross. Shelley holds a Bachelor of Science in Health and Human Performance with a concentration in Exercise Science. She is currently the Women’s Coach for the Stanford University Cycling Team. Olds is one of the founding members of the PROMAN Women's Cycling Team and is noted for her sprinting abilities on the road and on the track. Most recently, Shelley competed in the highest level of international track competition, the UCI Track World Cups, traveling all over the world to race both the Scratch and the Points Race. Shelley intends to focus on track racing in pursuit of her Olympic dream, however holds a diverse portfolio of cycling distinction, including top 10's in each of her first National Cross, Track and Criterium Championships. Her ultimate goal as a cyclist is to compete on the track at the 2012 Olympic Games in London. Shelley currently resides in Scotts Valley, CA and can be reached at proman_18@yahoo.com. |
