| Shelley Evans grew up in Massachusetts and holds a Bachelor of Science in Health and Human Performance with a concentration in Exercise Science. She obtained her undergraduate degree from Roanoke College in Virginia where she served as the Captain of the Women's Soccer Team for 2 consecutive years. She was named All-State, All-Region, and was nominated as an All-American. She was introduced to cycling by riding on the back of a mountain bike tandem in 2005. Since then she has become one of the highest ranked track cyclists in the World. Shelley is one of the founding members of the PROMAN Women's Cycling Team and is noted for her sprinting abilities. She is also a member of the United States National Cycling Team. Most recently, Shelley competed in the highest level of international track competition, the UCI Track World Cups, where she earned two bronze medals and a silver medal in both Scratch and Points Races. She is also the current and defending National Scratch Race Champion. Shelley intends to focus on international road and track cycling in pursuit of her Olympic dream, however holds a diverse portfolio of cycling distinction in National Cross, Track and Criterium racing. Shelley's ultimate goal as a cyclist is to compete for her country at the 2012 Olympic Games in London. Shelley currently resides in Scotts Valley, CA and can be reached at proman_18@yahoo.com. |
